drool baby, drool.

1|52: drool

I’ve seen some incredible 365 projects, my favorite being Gregarious Peach. But I’m not sure that I can commit to taking a photo a day, every day, for an entire year. (Especially since I’ve started my new 365/five-minutes-a-day blog.)

I do, however, want to grow in my photography this year. Not because it’s one of my specific goals for 2012 (it isn’t) but because I enjoy it and desire to push myself to get better (I think we should all spend time strengthening our strengths).

So instead of doing a 365 project, I’m doing a weekly project: 52 fotos for 2012.

Behold, the kick-off:

I love this one because it’s a very typical expression for Judah at the moment… slightly worried looking, slightly curious. And of course the drool. Hello world, the floodgates have now opened.

And I can’t resist posting my favorite runner-up from the week:

In case you haven’t caught on by now, I’m totally obsessed with baby feet.

I’ll just tell you right off the bat that most (if not all) of my “52” will be of my kids. Hopefully they won’t only be of Judah… but this will require a very fast shutter speed and perhaps some Cheerios in order to catch Levi without a blur these days. Wish me luck.

Dear friends, I’m linking in with Courtney’s 52 Faces. Do you have a 52 project happening this year? If so, what is it? (Please leave me the link!)

This is what I’m going to do this year too! I tried the 365 last year but was overwhelmed and with the move, pregnancy and deployment I quit halfway through! I love both pics but I like the feet because you see that cute diaper!!

I did a project 52 last year {I got behind in posting them after I had baby 2, but still took all the pictures…so that was good!}. I’m thinking I should continue this year too! Can’t wait to see your photos!

The fact that you continued taking the photos is the important part, right??! And yeah, do it again! 🙂

Oooh i want to do this too! I know that a 365 (366 this year) is impossible for me… but this seems completely manageable! Thanks for sharing Adriel.

And off topic… did are you using cloth on Judah? Our daughter in in cloth, but not at first. We were in an apartment with a coin-op laundry for her first 6 months. I am trying to make a plan for cloth diapers and a newborn… just checking if you had any tips.

      yeah, doooo it! 🙂

yes, we use cloth. i had some bumgenius newborn all-in-ones that i found on cotton babies for $5 each. they were genius!! (oh, just realized what i wrote – haha.) i loved them because they were easy with no stuffing, and you know how many diapers a day they go through when they’re that tiny!! judah had such tiny chicken legs that they didn’t fit until he was about a month old. (or they leaked out the sides.) then he used those (which worked perfectly) until about a week ago (3 months). he now fits into the regular one-size on the smallest setting. i really loved the all-in-ones with no folding or stuffing BUT i did find them for super cheap. if i had to pay full price i would have just used disposables until he fit into the one-size diapers at three months. my friend’s baby (born 2 day before jude) is much heavier and fit into the one-size (adjustable) diapers much earlier than judah did. so it all depends on body size and weight! particularly THIGHS. 🙂

even now with both boys, i only do laundry every other day, and i hang dry (we have no dryer here!). HTH!

Happy to have you linking up this year!! I know what you mean about photo blur with Levi. It takes a LOT of coercing and bribery to get Noah to sit still long enough to take a photo. Beautiful photos! Love those big blue eyes!

    Hi Adriel,

Its me again. 🙂 Your baby is so adorable. That blue eye is definitely an eye catcher. (I am also obsessed with my baby’s feet/hands). I also love your photos, they are amazing. I wonder how your camera was set to get this nice photo. Are you using raw or custom? Thanks for dropping by to my blog. I’ll definitely drop by here often. I hope you don’t mind?

    Blessings,
    Lamielle
