“Seriously?” I laughed, pulling out the scratch-it lotto tickets.
I remember being mildly annoyed during birthdays past when I opened up my card to find lottery tickets. “How could my husband not know that I think this is a monumental waste of our money?” I would think to myself.
But yesterday was different.
Yesterday I realized this was his tradition – and five dollars spent in the name of tradition is five dollars well-spent in my book.
I smiled and chuckled and scratched my way to a $4.00 winning.
Grinning ear-to-ear he exclaimed, “Awesome! You can go buy four more tickets!”
One of these birthdays those $5.00 worth of tickets might get us somewhere.
For now, I have $4.00 in my pocket (sort-of) to blow as I wish.
Dear friends, have you ever bought a lotto ticket? And what do you think – should I go and buy four more?

just keep what you have, no more tickets. i seriously stink at those things, when my friend on the other hand wins money (decent amounts too) like no other- i do not get it at all.. but maybe your luck is better so why not go and try

haha, so far i haven’t traded them in or cashed them in. keep forgetting they’re in my bag – a whooping $4! LOL.
hahah. My husband does that sometimes…like when the powerball is REALLY HIGH. I remember the first time he bought tickets, I was convinced we were going to win big. I stayed up 2 hours past my usual bed time to get the numbers. Needless to say, we didn’t win!

oh too funny. well, i hope you win sometime. wouldn’t that be fabulous?
If you haven’t already decided, I vote for getting one more ticket to give to Ryan as payment to stay home with the boys while you take the other $3 and go hang out in a coffe shop for an hour.
