just a little mom-gush

Yes. I’m on “maternity leave” from the Memos… dishing up some lovely guest posts and a few “encores” from the archives… but I couldn’t resist slipping in a small mom-gush post that I thought you might enjoy.

I can’t get enough of this… my sweet angel baby Jude:

How absolutely beautiful is my little blondie?

And these… precious, heart-melting moments between brothers:

I’m doing great. Adjusting to two children has been easier than I was expecting. Perhaps that’s because I got to have a normal birth this time, rather than a c-section. Perhaps it’s been because my husband had two weeks off to help us adjust to our new normal. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been incredibly intentional about “sleeping when the babies are sleeping”. Perhaps it’s just that the Grace has been thick and steady.

In any case, I’m loving it.

Absolutely loving it.

I’m loving the afternoon naps with my littlest baby tucked right up next to me.

I’m loving the smell of newborn hair and milk breath.

I’m loving the teeny tiny toes and delicate fingers.

I’m loving the squinty newborn eyes and hilarious faces.

I’m loving having a baby back at my breast.

And I’m loving having a new person in our family to love.

We are happy. So very happy.

Dear friends, just a quick little check in from me. Apparently I really like the Memos and I don’t want to totally abandon it during my mat leave. 🙂 But seriously, I really do have some amazing guest posts coming up. You will like… I’m sure of it.

yeah, totally! i guess it’s all what you give priority to! i was just telling my husband today that it’s so tempting to use that crossover naptime to “get stuff done” but i KNOW that during this time i really need my daily nap! maybe in a month or two i won’t need it as much (or maybe i will!)… but for now it trumps most other “stuff”!! 😉 and it’s definitely helping me to feel sane and like i can DO this! 🙂

Oh my gosh, congratulations! I haven’t hopped on the blog in a little while and I’m so happy to hear that everyone is happy and healthy– and that you were able to have a VBAC!!! I’m going to have a lot of questions for you when you get back from your maternity leave 🙂
