take THAT big bird!

When I was pregnant with my second child I often wondered if his milestones would be as exciting as our firstborn’s.

They are.

Hello folks, we have a sitter-upper:

baby sitting up in black and white

[8|52: sitter-upper]

I like this photo because I caught his first time sitting unassisted… but I also think it’s weird. It doesn’t look much like him.

He looks much more like this these days:

big bird gets chomped

But I couldn’t use this photo for my project 52 because technically I took it last week.

This one is also from last week:

toddler with spaghetti face

Both of these represent my current reality very well – crazy children who are doing their own thing without consulting me (while still managing to be super cute in the meantime).

It’s been a rough week friends. Actually, it’s been a rough few weeks if I’m perfectly honest.

We are most definitely in a “phase” right now. You know the kind I’m talking about?

Mmmmmm, thought so.

No need for me to rant and rave and wallow in my own self-pity hoping for some virtual pats on the back. You’ve got much, much better things to do.

But let’s be honest. I’m hanging on for dear life and thanking the good Lord that it’s the weekend.

Dear friends, has your week been as thrilling as mine?

sitter-upper: #8 of my 52 fotos project.

I am being there and doing that this week!! By some scheduling quirk of fate I actually had a full week off, how awesome was that?! Only Saturday the son woke up sick, and Wednesday the daughter woke up sick and it turns out they both have strep. And my whole week off was NOT what it was supposed to be 😛 So I hope that both our weekends look up and that next week is a new, better week!

A BIG positive of living in the tropics is that you could just take Levi outside and squirt him down with a hose to get that post dinnertime mess off. ;)I guess we could always roll ours around in the snow. Ha! And way to go Judah on the sitting! 🙂

Love the big bird picture. Our week was…well…sucky. Our oldest got the 24 hr stomach bug last Thursday. Our youngest got it Saturday. And then hubby and I BOTH got it Monday. I ended up in the hospital on Wednesday from severe dehydration and anti-nausea meds (thank you baby #3) and am SO glad the week is over, we’re all feeling better, and the weekend is here. Hopefully whichever phase you’re in is short-lived. And so glad you’re able to rejoice in the weekend.

That picture with big bird made me laugh out loud! 🙂 Loved it!! Ha! It’s been a week around here, too. Seems like they are coming more frequently these days. I’m blaming it on the crappy weather and the fact that little man seems to have cabin fever. Hope you manage to get a nice relaxing weekend!

Big Bird must have really ticked him off 😉 Great shot! The only good thing about a phase is that you know it will pass but until then hang on there.

Yay Judah! I think the milestones are super exciting the 2nd time around, too.

We had a pretty bad week (and weekend) around here. Lately it’s the mealtime battles with Q that are killing me slowly. But I read up on some really helpful advice today and will probably post on that soon. Hope this week is better for you!
